Jason Gusaas is an associate professor of ski area operations at CMC Leadville. He’ll give a talk on Aug. 28 at the Leadville campus about the future of ski area operations and Lake County winter recreation.

Talk on ski area operations and winter recreation to start off Speaker Series at CMC Leadville 

Jason Gusaas, associate professor of the ski area operations program at CMC’s Leadville campus, will give a talk on the future of ski area operations and Lake County winter recreation on Aug. 28 at the Coronado Café on campus.

Gusaas’s talk is the campus’s first Speaker Series talk of the 2023-24 academic year. CMC students and employees voted him faculty of year at CMC Leadville in 2022.

Gusaas began his career in the ski industry as the foreman of Huff Hills, a small ski area in North Dakota and completed the ski area management program at Gogebic Community College in Michigan. He began his internship at Copper Mountain where he was the terrain parks and half pipes foreman for 11 years and was the first recipient of the terrain master of the year award presented by Colorado Ski Country USA in 2002.

Gusaas’s talk will take place from 12:15-1:15 p.m. on Aug. 28 at the Coronado Café, CMC Leadville, 901 S. Highway 24, Leadville. The talk is free and the public is invited and encouraged to attend.
