Under the direction of the Executive Director of TRIO, the primary responsibility of the Director of Strategic Initiatives is to manage specific programs and projects in Student Affairs. Responsibilities include management of programs that may focus on access and success of specific student populations. The Director will work in collaboration with several campuses and departments throughout the College.

Pre-requisites for Position (Qualifications Standards):
Education and experience sufficient for the rigors of the position, such as a Master’s degree in Education, Educational Administration, or a related field, along with three years of related experience; a Bachelor’s degree along with five years of related experience in an institution of higher education, and demonstrated experience in project management or coordination; or equivalent education and experience. Experience in managing scholarship and grant programs is desirable. Master's degree preferred.
Special Skills or abilities related to position: budget management, project management, community engagement, knowledge of policies and procedures in higher education, especially student financial assistance, process improvement, technology based solutions and the ability to collaborate with various departments within the College.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel is required. Proficiency in an integrated management software such as Colleague preferred.

Bilingual (English/Spanish) or conversational language abilities preferred.
