At just 10 years old Katya took her first CMC non-credit course and had already completed 15 credits through concurrent enrollment (Coal Ridge High School) before starting her Early Childhood Education degree at CMC as a first-generation student. After graduating with her Associate degree, she then moved to Fort Collins and attended Colorado State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development and Family Studies.<\/p>\r\n

She is back in the Valley and at CMC as an Enrollment Services Specialist.<\/p>\r\n

Katya is fueled by her passion for education and her commitment to empowering the Hispanic community. As a proud first-generation Hispanic student herself, she understands the challenges and anxieties that often accompany the pursuit of higher education. She is excited to create a welcoming and inclusive environment and connect with individuals who may have questions or concerns about CMC.<\/p>\r\n

When Katya is not at work you can find her traveling, hanging out with friends and family, and growing her rock collection.<\/p>\r\n

Con tan solo 10 a\u00f1os Katya tom\u00f3 su primer curso sin-cr\u00e9dito por CMC y cuando se gradu\u00f3 de Coal Ridge High School ya ten\u00eda 15 cr\u00e9ditos para empezar su t\u00edtulo de asociados en Educaci\u00f3n infantil temprana como estudiante de primera generaci\u00f3n. Despu\u00e9s de graduarse de CMC se mud\u00f3 a Fort Collins donde atendi\u00f3 la Universidad Estatal de Colorado y obtuvo su licenciatura de Ciencias en Desarrollo Humano y Estudios Familiares.<\/p>\r\n

Ella est\u00e1 de vuelta en el Valle y en CMC como Especialista en Servicios de Inscripci\u00f3n.<\/p>\r\n

Katya se impulsa por su pasi\u00f3n por la educaci\u00f3n y su compromiso con empoderar a la comunidad hispana. Como orgullosa estudiante hispana de primera generaci\u00f3n, comprende los desaf\u00edos y las ansiedades que acompa\u00f1an la b\u00fasqueda de la educaci\u00f3n. Est\u00e1 emocionada de crear un ambiente acogedor e inclusivo y conectarse con personas que puedan tener preguntas o inquietudes sobre CMC.<\/p>\r\n

Cuando Katya no est\u00e1 trabajando la puedes encontrar viajando, saliendo con amigos y familiares, y haciendo crecer su colecci\u00f3n de piedras.<\/p>\r\n
