Beginner Skate Cross-Country Skiing with Helen Carlsen

Learn the fundamentals of SKATE style Cross-Country Skiing: body position, balance, kick, glide, and poling. This is a group lesson designed for students with little or no Skate-Skiing experience. Instructor Helen Carlsen has lived and skied in the Roaring Fork Valley since 1981. She teaches both classic and skate styles throughout Western Colorado. Students meet at the Spring Gulch parking lot, and bring their own or rented equipment that is appropriate for SKATE skiing. Be prepared for winter weather conditions. Additional Waiver/Release - Health Questionnaire forms must be submitted to Carbondale campus no later than 2 days prior, for students to participate in this class. Call the Carbondale Campus at 970-963-2172 to get electronic forms emailed to you, or stop by to complete the forms in person. Class size is limited is 10 students. Class may be canceled for enrollment below 6 students, or for lack of snow, no later than 2 days prior to the class.
