Develop a plan of action for self-protection. It starts with understanding that while the best way to avoid/stop a threat is to prevent it from occurring, it ends with knowing you have the proper mindset, skills, and tools to ensure safety. Having a plan can provide a shield during an event where you fear for your life and/or grievous bodily harm. Learn about the nature of violence and the most common attacks while developing suitable counter actions, regardless of size, strength, or speed. The class covers empty-hand techniques, counter blade, and counter gun concepts, and the use of both impact and edged weapons as defensive tools while also stressing the justification of their use and surviving the longer-term legal ramifications. Classes will involve the focused attention of instruction to ten to twelve participates at a time to ensure ample opportunity for safe hands-on learning. This class is at Hybrid Nation studio in Avon.
