Textiles and Fabrics

Learn all about fabric - identification, construction, and end uses. Review the history of textiles beginning in 1500 BC to the 21 Century and latest fabric developments. Learn how textiles are made, and how to identify and 'read' a fabric so you can select the best fabrics for specific uses. Students will start their own fabric swatch resource book. Understand what a clothing label means, and why you launder your clothes a certain way. Instructor Cecilia Metheny brings over 25 years experience in the high-end textile and luxury apparel design industry in New York, Italy, Europe and Asian markets. Call 970-963-2172 for supply list.
