The Maintenance Manager reports to the Director of Facilities and is responsible for the operation, maintenance, security, and appearance of the Aspen and Carbondale physical plant equipment, facilities, and grounds. This position will have an office in Aspen with responsibilities in Aspen and Carbondale.
This position manages and/or performs a variety of skilled building maintenance services in one or more of the trades involving electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, locksmithing, masonry, painting, carpentry, and custodial trades and services; contractor/vendor services; building security; maintains budgets, records and inventory; purchases supplies and equipment; and compliance monitoring. Additionally monitors the work order management system (SchoolDude). Works with CMC IT and external vendor for technical support on building automation systems, ID card system, door monitoring and security cameras.

Pre-requisites for Position (Qualifications Standards):
Education or Training sufficient for the rigors of the position. Examples include an Associate’s Degree and two years related experience, or High School Degree/GED and four years related experience, or equivalent education and experience to meet the requirements of the position.
Special Skills or abilities related to position: knowledge of general grounds maintenance practices; basic repair and maintenance of hand tools, maintenance and motorized equipment; standard cleaning operations; standard Microsoft Office software and knowledge of Web based control systems.
Ability to: read, write, speak, and understand English well; work independently and/or as a team member; use hand tools and perform repetitive tasks; operate a variety of power tools and equipment, including carpenter’s, electrician’s, plumber’s and painter’s tools; obtain and maintain a valid Colorado driver’s license; serve on-call duty; good organizational and prioritization skills, and basic computer skills.
