About Brandon
Brandon Drury has 15 years of experience in the fire service and is currently serving as a Training Captain with Leadville Lake County Fire Rescue. Since 2011, he has worked at Colorado Mountain College (CMC) as a teaching technician, lead instructor, and now as full-time fire science faculty.
He is dedicated to developing well-rounded firefighters through the Associate's program and has a passion for creating real-world training scenarios. Brandon is collaborating with Leadville Fire and CMC to develop a state-of-the-art training facility that will proficiently train both students and professional firefighters to face the difficult challenges they will inevitably encounter in their field of work.
Recognizing that structure fires are often categorized as low frequency but high risk, Brandon believes that through education and highly functional training classes centered around live fire, frequency can be increased and risk reduced. This approach will make the dangerous job of firefighting safer for firefighters and provide a safer community for citizens by having highly trained individuals responding to their calls for service.
