Family

We are a family of 5 (plus our Doberman) who are all world travelers, photographers, skiers and snowboarders, hikers, and Calvin and Hobbes fans. My husband is a professional pilot, and pro-photographer. Our oldest, Jordan, is an ABA therapist for autistic children, our middle, Brandon, is a professional pilot and pro-photographer, and our youngest, Carys, is studying to become an exotic, large animal veterinarian: lions, tigers, and bears, oh my!

Personal Interests

I see the world around me through a geologist’s lens, and love exploring the world with unbounded curiosity every day! This includes mineralogy, volcanology, glaciology, river systems, energy resources, springs development and protections, and anything else related to geology no matter where I am I love to share that passion and experience with my students. My favorite places so far are our U.S. National Parks, New Zealand, Israel, Canada, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, and France. I love hiking (my favorite was hiking to the cornice at the top of Mt. St. Helens and glissading down the slope afterwards!), alpine and AT skiing, playing tennis, finding fossils, and reading.
