Personal Interests

One of my deepest fascinations is grappling with the question- what is humanity's proper role in the natural world? Understanding how we as modern humans can best uphold the integrity of both ecosystems and human systems demands complex thinking. I take students on an adventure of first developing a deep understanding of how ecology works, while engaging them in problem solving that continuously reflects on why what we are learning matters and how that knowledge can be applied to solutions.
