For many first-generation students, college is not one challenge. It is many challenges at once: paying tuition, choosing a path, navigating financial aid, planning for transfer and believing that graduation is truly within reach.

The Mountain Scholars program at Colorado Mountain College surrounds students with the support they need to persist, graduate and begin meaningful careers. Through scholarships, mentoring, academic coaching and college navigation, Mountain Scholars helps students move from possibility to achievement.

Behind every Mountain Scholar success story is a student who kept going, and a community of supporters who helped make that possible. Mountain Scholars pairs financial assistance with the wraparound services students need most, including one-on-one mentoring, academic coaching, degree and career counseling, financial navigation, and transfer support. The mentor program is especially powerful: students meet regularly with trusted community mentors who offer encouragement, practical guidance and steady belief in their goals. That combination is changing outcomes with 67% of Mountain Scholars earning a postsecondary degree, a rate 55% higher than the national average for first-generation students. When you support Mountain Scholars, you invest in students, families and the future workforce of our mountain communities.
