Glenwood Springs and Carbondale Housing

Finding affordable housing near CMC Carbondale and Glenwood Springs can be a challenge. Knowing where to look, checking listings daily, and being prepared to act fast when an opportunity presents itself will help you secure housing in the Roaring Fork Valley.

The nearby CMC Spring Valley campus has residence halls available for Glenwood Springs and Carbondale students. Some of your classes may even be offered at this campus.

If you’re under 21 years old, you may be required to live at the Spring Valley campus while attending one of these nearby CMC locations.

On-campus Housing

The CMC Spring Valley campus is less than 10 miles from CMC Glenwood Springs and CMC Carbondale. This is a popular option among traditional aged students in the area.

On-campus housing goes fast! Avoid the wait-list by securing your spot when you submit your housing application.

Off-campus Housing

If you’re under 21 years old, you may be required to live on the Spring Valley campus even if attending nearby CMC Glenwood Springs or CMC Carbondale. See Live-On Requirement in the housing agreement for details.

If you’re under 21 years old, contact the Director of Student Life at your campus to request an exemption form and wait for approval prior to signing a lease.

You may need to make a special trip to the area a few weeks prior to classes starting to view listings and secure a lease. Be prepared to pay first and last month’s rent, as well as a damage deposit. Don’t be surprised if there aren’t many options that allow pets!

Finding Roommates

Need help finding roommates? Current students should go to Basecamp (login required) to see and share messages with other CMC students.

Rental Assistance Program

Depending on your income and other factors, you may qualify for the Garfield County Rental Assistance Program if living off-campus.

At the link above you’ll find a document “Payment Standard & Utility Allowance” showing the current income levels for qualification, and another “Pre-Application” document. There is a wait-list for this assistance, so the sooner you apply the better.
