Under the supervision of the campus Physical Plant Manager, the Maintenance Mechanic – Groundskeeper is responsible for the maintenance and repair of campus buildings, utilities, vehicles, equipment, and related duties. This position may perform a variety of skilled building maintenance tasks in one or more of the trades involving electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, locksmith, masonry, painting, carpentry, auto mechanics, and custodial trades and services. Grounds maintenance responsibilities are also included such as the use of equipment, tools and chemicals for grounds, snow removal and related functions. This position provide on-call service, security of buildings, and perform other duties as assigned. Maximum 28 hours per week.
Education and experience sufficient to meet the rigors of the position, such as Associate’s Degree and two years related experience, High School Degree/GED and three years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience necessary for the rigors of the position.
Special Skills or abilities related to position: Experience with electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, locksmith, masonry, painting, carpentry, and/or auto mechanics; computer and custodial experience is preferred. Valid Colorado driver’s license is required.
