1,000 Words: CMC Breckenridge graduates 11 regional law enforcement cadets
On Dec. 4, 11 law enforcement cadets graduated from the Colorado Law Enforcement Training Academy at Colorado Mountain College’s Breckenridge campus. CLETA is a 16-week, Colorado Police Officers Standards and Training-accredited academy. The program, which began at CMC’s Spring Valley campus outside Glenwood Springs in the mid-‘70s expanded to Breckenridge several years ago. At Breckenridge’s ceremony, Alice Cary, Silverthorne’s new police chief, gave the commencement address to the fall 2023 cohort, four of whom have positions with the Frisco Police Department. Others have accepted work with Breckenridge Police, Vail Police, Buena Vista Police and the Chaffee County Sheriff. Photo by Carrie Click
