1,000 Words: CMC Carbondale’s Fire Academy graduates 10 cadets

On Dec. 1, 10 fire science cadets graduated from CMC’s Carbondale Fire Academy at the Carbondale and Rural Fire Protection District’s training center. The certificate of proficiency the graduates receive following classes and hands-on training prepares them with the basic skills necessary to respond to community emergencies including medical, fire-related and hazardous materials incidents. Fire Academy instructors, who work at regional fire departments throughout the Roaring Fork Valley and beyond, and new graduates gathered after the commencement ceremony to celebrate their achievement.
