1,000 Words: Sixteen cadets graduate from CMC's Leadville Fire Academy on Dec. 8

Colorado Mountain College Leadville Fire Academy’s fall cohort commencement was held at the Old Church in Leadville on Dec. 8 after 16 weeks of classes and hands-on training. During that time, 16 cadets received instruction from CMC faculty and active firefighters. Seven instructors are with Leadville Lake County Fire Rescue, four are with Eagle River Fire Protection District, two are with Summit Fire & EMS, one is with Canon City Fire and one is with the Cripple Creek Fire Department. It is expected that most graduating cadets will either continue their fire science education at the Leadville Fire Academy and/or work locally or in the region with fire departments and districts.
