Professor Michael Reyelts of CMC Rifle receives collegewide recognition
Every spring at each of Colorado Mountain College’s 11 campuses, students and employees vote for outstanding educators and staff for Faculty of the Year and Staff of the Year recognition. Senior college administrators then select overall collegewide awards.
This year, a full-time Rifle professor was recognized, not only by the Rifle campus, but collegewide. CMC Rifle chose professor Michael Reyelts, who has taught English as a Second Language and Spanish at CMC for 23 years, as its full-time Faculty of the Year. Reyelts also received CMC’s collegewide full-time Faculty of the Year award.
In selecting Reyelts, one student wrote, “El maestro is a truly inspiring educator who goes above and beyond to support every student. He creates an environment where every student feels valued and motivated. Every student feels safe, respected, and encouraged to express themselves in his classroom. His kindness, patience and empathy make him not just a great teacher, but a wonderful person and a blessing to all.”
Additionally, students and employees at CMC Rifle selected nurse aide instructor Ella Zupcsek as the campus’s adjunct Faculty of the Year and Chloe Krebill, campus fiscal manager, as Rifle’s full-time Staff of the Year.
