The CMC Vail Valley at Edwards campus from the air. CMC Board of Trustees Approves Tuition, Fees for 2025-26

Edwards, Colo. – The Colorado Mountain College board of trustees met at CMC’s Vail Valley at Edwards campus to conduct its first board meeting of the year. At the meeting, newly appointed at-large trustees Beth Helmke (Salida) and Magda King (Eagle) were officially sworn into their roles and assigned to Board governing committees.

Among the key action items, trustees approved tuition and fee structures for the 2025-26 academic year, as well as other initiatives aimed at supporting students and expanding educational opportunities across the college’s district.

As part of its annual budget planning process, the board approved a 2.9% tuition increase to keep pace with inflation while maintaining CMC’s commitment to affordability. The new rates, effective for the 2025-26 academic year, will be:

  • $107 per credit hour for in-district students (a $3 increase)
  • $214 per credit hour for in-state students (a $6 increase)
  • $545 per credit hour for non-resident students (a $15 increase)

In addition, the board approved a modification to the Continuing Opportunity Tuition (COT) Discount, expanding access for English as a Second Language (ESL) students. Under the revised policy, students who have resided in the CMC service area for at least 12 months and have completed ESL 9018 and 9020 (or pass an English for Academic Purposes placement assessment) will qualify for in-district tuition rates.

The board also approved adjustments to student fees, including:

  • An increase in the differential tuition for nursing and dental hygiene programs to $77 per credit hour, ensuring sustainability for these high-cost programs.
  • Adjustments to residence hall fees (a 3.5% increase) to account for rising operational costs.
