CMC exhibits highlight Aspen, Carbondale art faculty talent

Oct. 9, 2023 – Two Roaring Fork Valley exhibits, “Locale: CMC Art Faculty Art Exhibit,” can be viewed at Colorado Mountain College campuses in Aspen and Carbondale through Dec. 1.

The exhibition highlights artwork created by the faculty of the Aspen campus, with a sister exhibition at the Carbondale campus featuring the faculty members' creations there.

The Aspen exhibit, located in the CMC Aspen Gallery, includes about 20 pieces, including ceramics, abstract paintings, printmaking and metal creations. The Carbondale exhibit features textiles, paintings, sculptures and more and is located throughout the Carbondale center’s hallways.

The exhibition also gives the public insight into what CMC art instructors offer, as the CMC Aspen and Carbondale campuses offer many classes across various art media.

The CMC Aspen Gallery is at 0255 Sage Way and CMC Carbondale’s Lappala Center is at 690 Colorado Ave. The campuses are open to the public.

The CMC Aspen Gallery is open from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. However, availability varies since it is also used for art classes and other functions. For more information, call CMC Aspen at 970-925-7740 or email asgallery@coloradomtn.edu.
