CMC Glenwood Center’s new Holistic Health Expo scheduled for April 12

Curious about the variety of nontraditional health services available in the Roaring Fork Valley? A new event at Colorado Mountain College’s Glenwood Center promises a one-stop opportunity to meet with a wide range of local holistic health practitioners and learn more about their offerings.

CMC Glenwood Center’s first Holistic Health Expo will be held from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, April 12 at the center, located at 1402 Blake Ave. in Glenwood Springs. It’s a free event, open to the public.

A highlight of the event will be a keynote address at 10 a.m. by InSpero Medical’s Dr. Tereza Hubkova, an Edwards-based practitioner of functional medicine, a patient-centered approach to chronic disease management. Hubkova will be speaking on the topic of integrative gut health.

According to Annmarie Deter, CMC Glenwood Center’s continuing education coordinator, the Holistic Health Expo is designed to provide a comprehensive overview of the variety of alternative options available in the area. Information and demonstrations will take place at booths in the center’s atrium.

“It’s a topic I’ve been interested in and I’ve wanted to give the holistic health community a place where they can come and interact with the community,” Deter said. “There are so many options right here in the valley. It’s a great way to get your questions about holistic health answered.”

Visitors will be able to learn more from local experts offering chiropractic services and holistic dentistry, as well as nutritionists, energy work and apothecary services, all operating from a wellness-focused medicine approach.

Keynote speaker Dr. Hubkova will discuss the connection between digestive health and overall wellbeing, with information on new approaches to healing the gut with a blend of lifestyle strategies, nutrition and functional medicine. Those who’ve been struggling with digestive problems or chronic illness can learn more about ways to restore balance and boost their vitality.
