CMC names Edwards professor 2026 collegewide Faculty of the Year

EDWARDS — Colorado Mountain College has named Dr. Miquel Salinas, associate professor of teacher education at its Vail Valley at Edwards campus, as its collegewide full-time Faculty of the Year.

Salinas teaches across multiple programs, including concurrent enrollment courses for local high school students and education courses for CMC students.

He was first selected at the campus level before being chosen for the collegewide award.

As part of his work, Salinas has developed bilingual concurrent enrollment courses to expand access for multilingual learners and supports paraprofessionals across Colorado pursuing teacher licensure.

“His longstanding reputation as an educator and his broad impact on students and the community make him a pillar of the Vail Valley campus,” said Dr. Marc Brennan, CMC vice president and Vail Valley at Edwards campus dean.

A full list of Colorado Mountain College Faculty and Staff of the Year award winners is available at 2026 campus and collegewide recipients.
