CMC’s Glenwood Center hosts free session on understanding theft and fraud
Colorado Mountain College will present “Understanding Theft and Fraud: What you Need to Know” at CMC’s Glenwood Center from 6-8 p.m. on Nov. 6.
Cami Taylor, Bank of Colorado’s operations manager, will describe current fraud schemes and emerging trends with a focus on online scams involving platforms such as Venmo, Cash App and others. Taylor will teach attendees how to recognize red flags, create protections from digital theft and better understand how thieves target different age groups. Taylor will also include statistics from the FBI on the prevalence and financial impact of scams.
“Understanding Theft and Fraud” is part of the Glenwood Center’s Gift of Education free lecture series, which offers ideas and topics relevant to the community. The event will be held at CMC’s Glenwood Center, 1402 Blake Ave., Glenwood Springs. Admission is free and all are welcome.
