CMC’s law enforcement academy graduates 11 cadets
The graduates were part of the academy’s fall 2024 cohort, which completed a 16-week Colorado Peace Officer Standards and Training certification course. The Colorado Attorney General oversees POST and certifies all active and reserve peace officers working in Colorado.
Attending the ceremony, in addition to the CLETA graduates, CMC staff and faculty, and friends and family were CMC President Matt Gianneschi; Kelly Humphrey, CMC vice president and Glenwood Springs and Spring Valley dean; Drew Oesterle, CLETA program director; James van Beek, Eagle County sheriff, who gave the commencement address; and Sierra Weld, CLETA associate professor.
Graduates work at law enforcement agencies in Breckenridge, Frisco, Snowmass Village and Eagle County.
CMC’s Colorado Law Enforcement Training Academy has been training police officers for over 30 years. The academy trains officers at two CMC locations, at the Spring Valley and Breckenridge campuses at three sessions each year, during summer, fall and spring semesters. Each full-time course consists of 615 hours of intensive training that exceeds the requirements set forth by POST.
