Colorado Mountain College Leadville to hold commencement ceremony on May 2

Graduates from CMC Leadville will participate in their commencement ceremony on Friday, May 2.

Collegewide, 15 ceremonies total are being held at 11 campuses and additional sites throughout CMC’s 7,500-square-mile district from April 17 through May 5 to celebrate the accomplishments of the college’s graduating class of 2024-25.

Students will receive bachelor's and associate degrees, occupational proficiency and workforce certificates, and diplomas acknowledging high school equivalency and adult high school. Additionally, regional high school students in CMC’s concurrent enrollment program will receive their college-level certificates and degrees.

Eric Carpio will give the keynote address at Leadville’s commencement ceremony at 1:30 p.m., May 2 at the Climax Molybdenum Leadership Center gym. molybdenum

Carpio serves as the chief community museum officer for History Colorado and is the director of the Fort Garland Museum & Cultural Center. He holds a Bachelor of Science in business administration marketing from Colorado State University and a Master of Arts in counselor education from Adams State University. Under his leadership, the Fort Garland Museum has garnered national attention for its innovative exhibitions, which have been featured in outlets such as The New York Times and Rocky Mountain PBS. His commitment to community engagement and collaborative storytelling has positioned him as a leading figure in museum leadership.
