Colorado Mountain College Salida to hold commencement ceremony on May 3
Graduates from CMC Salida will participate in their commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 3.
Students will receive bachelor's and associate degrees, occupational proficiency and workforce certificates, and certificates certifying high school completion. Additionally, regional high school students in CMC’s concurrent enrollment program will receive their college-level certificates and degrees.
Collegewide, 15 ceremonies total are being held at 11 campuses and additional sites throughout CMC’s 7,500-square-mile district from April 17 through May 5 to celebrate the accomplishments of the college’s graduating class of 2024-25.
Keynote speaker: History Colorado's Eric Carpio
Eric Carpio will give the keynote address at Salida’s commencement ceremony at 10 a.m., May 3 at the SteamPlant Event Center.
Carpio serves as the chief community museum officer for History Colorado and is the director of the Fort Garland Museum & Cultural Center. He holds a Bachelor of Science in business administration marketing from Colorado State University and a Master of Arts in counselor education from Adams State University. Under his leadership, the Fort Garland Museum has garnered national attention for its innovative exhibitions, which have been featured in outlets such as The New York Times and Rocky Mountain PBS. His commitment to community engagement and collaborative storytelling has positioned him as a leading figure in museum leadership.
