Buffalo Mountain looms large over Lake Dillon, Silverthorne, Dillon and Frisco, and greets all who travel on I-70 through Summit County.
Phil Lindeman, news director at Krystal 93 radio in Summit County, recently asked geologist Garry Zabel, CMC's professor emeritus, to explain how Buffalo Mountain, as well as a couple other well-known nearby geologic formations, came to be.
