Isaacson School to host annual Portfolio Night April 30

Graduating students present capstone work at CMC Spring Valley

GLENWOOD SPRINGS — Graduating students from Colorado Mountain College’s Isaacson School for Communication, Arts and Media will showcase their work during the school’s annual Portfolio Night from 4:30-7 p.m. on Thursday, April 30 at the CMC Spring Valley campus.

The public is invited to attend, view student portfolios and connect with these emerging designers, photographers, filmmakers and integrated media artists.

Portfolio Night offers students an opportunity to present and discuss their projects with community members, faculty and industry professionals.

This year’s showcase includes students completing Colorado Mountain College’s Bachelor of Applied Science in integrated media, a degree introduced in 2023. In addition to the bachelor’s program, students at the Isaacson School can earn certificates and associate degrees in digital media with an emphasis in either graphic design or photography/videography.

About 20 students will present portfolios developed over the academic year, reflecting a range of creative and technical skills.

“This event gives people from the community an opportunity to see the great things our students are accomplishing,” said Derek Johnston, professor and program director of the professional photography program at the Isaacson School.

Portfolio Night will be held at the Bushong Student Center at the Spring Valley campus, 3000 County Road 114, Glenwood Springs.

Admission is free. Refreshments will be provided.
