Students to display work at CMC’s Spring Valley campus
Graduating students from Colorado Mountain College’s Isaacson School for Communication, Arts and Media will present their Final Portfolio Show at CMC’s Spring Valley campus from 4:30-7 p.m. on May 1. The public is encouraged to attend the show and meet next-generation creative talent — right here in the Roaring Fork Valley.
The event showcases the work of the Isaacson School’s professional photography, digital media and graphic design students and allows them to show and discuss their work with the public.
Mark Millhone, associate professor, program director of integrated media at the school, said this year's event includes the first five graduates of CMC's Bachelor of Applied Science degree in integrated media. It was added in 2023.
CMC students enrolled in the Isaacson School can also earn certificates and associate degrees in professional photography, digital media and graphic design.
Millhone said 15 students will share the work they did during the school year.
"It's very high-level, professional creative work," he added.
Students worked with an in-house content agency called iWorks at CMC to replicate what they could experience working in the industry, Millhone stated.
"We want to be sure they have very hands-on experiences to help them come up with a career pathway into the creative industries," he said.
The Final Portfolio Show will be held in the Nieslanik Living Room inside the Bushong Student Center at the Spring Valley campus, 3000 County Road 114, Glenwood Springs.
Admission is free and refreshments will be served.
