Picnic Day/Dia de Campo at CMC Salida scheduled for Aug. 4

July 29, 2024 - Colorado Mountain College Salida is hosting Picnic Day/Dia de Campo, a bilingual event on Sunday, Aug. 4 at CMC for both Spanish- and English-speaking community members, to raise awareness about the wide range of learning opportunities available at the campus.

On hand to answer questions will be CMC staff from different programs including TRIO, a federally funded program that provides financial support and academic advisement to high school and college students; English as a second language; financial aid; admissions; and more.

Several local organizations and businesses, including Ark Valley Voice, Chaffee County Family and Youth Initiatives, Chaffee County Public Health and Greater Arkansas River Nature Association will also be available with information about their services.

Beverages and food will be available (first come, first served), and tours of CMC’s Kesner Building will be offered. All individuals and families are welcomed and encouraged to come by. There will be games for children and teens.

This free event will be held from 3-5 p.m. on the lawn of CMC Salida at the Kesner Building, 349 E. Ninth St., Salida.
