Wellness Week at CMC Steamboat Springs offers activities for students and the public
Week runs Oct. 10-14
OCT. 6, 2022 - October is nationally recognized as Emotional Wellness Month, and following suit, the week of Oct. 10-14 is Wellness Week at Colorado Mountain College Steamboat Springs.
Although over a dozen activities are planned, Wellness Week is not only for CMC students. While there are workshops and gatherings specifically designed just for CMC's student body, the public is invited and encouraged to visit the campus to participate in six free activities during the week.
From 9:30-9:55 a.m., Oct. 10, CMC will hold a stretching and centering session, followed at 10 a.m. with refresh workshop from 10-11 a.m.
From 6-8 p.m., Oct. 11, Ben Cort, who focuses on substance use disorder prevention and recovery, will present “Mental Health, Cannabis and You.” Cort speaks about the ways marijuana can affect mental health. Cort’s talk will be held in CMC’s Academic Building in the Allbright Auditorium and is free and open to all.
From 11:45 a.m.-1 p.m. on Oct. 12, a workshop will be held to discuss suicide awareness, and on Oct. 14, from 12-1 p.m. the campus will host a labyrinth walk. That will be followed with a talk about understanding and overcoming guilt from 2-3 p.m., also on Oct. 14.
