Colorado Mountain College and Regis University Create New Pathway for Future Physical Therapists
Students interested in becoming physical therapists now have a clearer path from Colorado Mountain College to graduate school through a new guaranteed admission partnership with Regis University.
The agreement gives qualifying CMC students a direct pathway into Regis University's Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program, creating new opportunities for students pursuing careers in one of healthcare's fastest-growing fields.

Physical therapists help patients recover from injuries, improve mobility, manage pain, and maintain healthy, active lifestyles. They work in a variety of settings, including hospitals, rehabilitation centers, outpatient clinics, schools, and community health organizations. As demand for healthcare professionals continues to grow, physical therapists play an increasingly important role in helping individuals regain function and independence.
Through CMC's Pre-Physical Therapy track, students complete the foundational coursework needed for admission to a Doctor of Physical Therapy program, including studies in anatomy and physiology, chemistry, physics, and statistics. Many students choose to pair the pathway with CMC's Bachelor of Science in Biological Science degree, creating a strong academic foundation for graduate study. Students also gain valuable experience through observation hours, healthcare settings, and mentorship opportunities with practicing professionals.
The guaranteed admission agreement with Regis University provides an additional level of support and certainty for students who meet program requirements. For many aspiring healthcare professionals, admission to graduate school can be one of the most competitive steps in the educational journey. Partnerships like this help students navigate that process while keeping them connected to the communities where they hope to live and work.
The pathway reflects CMC's ongoing commitment to expanding healthcare education opportunities across Colorado's mountain and rural regions. By creating partnerships with leading professional schools, CMC is helping students pursue advanced degrees while addressing workforce needs throughout the state.
The new agreement with Regis University joins a growing portfolio of healthcare pathways available to CMC students. In addition to physical therapy, CMC has partnered with Regis University to create a pharmacy pathway that provides qualifying students with guaranteed admission opportunities into the university's Doctor of Pharmacy program. Together, these partnerships help students pursue advanced healthcare degrees while addressing workforce needs throughout Colorado's mountain and rural communities.
