District 6, Lake County
Pat Chlouber received a Bachelor of Science from Oklahoma Baptist University and a Master of Arts from the University of Colorado. She taught reading at the elementary level and served nine years on the Lake County School Board. In 1996 Chlouber was elected from the 3rd Congressional District as a member of the Colorado State Board of Education and served five years.
From 2001 to 2009 she worked for the U.S. Department of Education as the secretary’s regional representative, appointed by the George W. Bush administration, working with six states including North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming, Utah, Montana and Colorado.
Chlouber served on the Colorado Charter School Institute Board of Directors, to which she was appointed by Colorado Gov. Hickenlooper from 2011 to 2016. She was elected in 2011 and 2015 as the trustee for Colorado Mountain College and serves as the board secretary.
Pat and her husband, Ken, live in Leadville. Ken is a Colorado state senator (retired) and the founder of the Leadville Race Series and the Leadville Legacy Foundation.
