CMC offers nine pathways including several associate degrees and various certificate programs designed to provide students a clear track to a career in public safety.

Emphasizing a community-oriented approach to policing, Colorado Mountain College has been training police officers for over 30 years. Our POST accredited Law Enforcement Training Academy provides the basic training and certification required for employment as a law enforcement officer in the state of Colorado.

Begin a career in criminal justice or position yourself for a career advancement with an Associate of Applied Science with an emphasis in Criminal Justice. Prepare for a career in law enforcement with real-world experience alongside working professionals while learning valuable skills and techniques.

Colorado Mountain College provides a clear path to beginning and advancing an honorable career as a Colorado EMT with EMT-Basic and EMT-Intermediate certifications. EMT-Basic prepares students for the National Registry Exam and Colorado state certification. EMT-Intermediate introduces complex medical and trauma training for EMTs ready to advance their careers.

The EMT Paramedic program at Colorado Mountain College is a one-year hybrid program combining online lectures and hands-on labs. Students receive training in high-level responsibilities such as loading patients in a heli-ambulance, patient stabilization, advance life support and more. Complete a certificate with over 1000 hours of classroom, clinical and field instruction or earn an Associate of Applied Science with an emphasis in Paramedic. Graduates will be prepared for the National Registry examination and Colorado state certification.

CMC’s Fire Academy offers a straightforward path to begin or advance a firefighting career in Colorado. Fire Academy I students are trained by a group of active and retired firefighters and have more live fire days than any other program in the state. Fire Academy II will take your fire service career to the next level with additional skills and training at the Fire Fighter II and Hazardous Materials Technician levels.

The Fire Science program offers a two-year comprehensive training pathway to becoming a firefighter. In addition to an Associate of Applied Science with an emphasis in Fire Science Technology, CMC offers several certificates to enhance your professional experience including Fire Prevention Code Enforcement, Fire Investigation, Fire Department Company Officer Certificate, Fire Science: Driver Operator.

Learn the skills necessary to work as a rope technician in a mountain, wilderness or high angle environment. Students seeking positions in search & rescue, wilderness guiding, or as park rangers will be able to provide employers with the necessary rope rescue certification.

Rugged mountains offer the perfect venue to hone your rescue skills and learn from world class professionals. The pathway to becoming a Wilderness EMT blends outdoor education courses and a co-requisite of an EMT, Paramedic or RN certification.
