Inside the Associate of Science Program
Colorado Mountain College offers a wide range of sciences, from biology and chemistry, to math, physics and geology. Come tour our chemistry and physics labs. Take a geology or biology field trip in the mountains and canyons of Colorado.
Each Colorado Mountain College campus focuses on special areas in science for our Associate of Science two-year degree program. The Leadville Campus emphasizes biology, chemistry and environmental concerns. Spring Valley is equipped for chemistry and physics courses and also emphasizes biology and geology.
Physics and biology are strong at CMC in Steamboat Springs, which is equipped with a science lab for both. These campuses also offer classes in many other scientific subjects. Summit Campus offers this degree with a range of science and math courses.
Networked computer labs provide current hardware, software and connectivity for our Associate of Science degree program.
Outside the classroom, the Rocky Mountain West is your science laboratory. You might study geology in the Colorado San Juan Mountains or in the Grand Canyon, biology on a mountainside with a herd of bighorn sheep, or astronomy on a clear mountain night. Field trips like these are offered frequently.

What Will I Learn?
The biology emphasis for the Associate of Science Degree provides a strong foundation in mathematics and science classes for students desiring a career in the biological sciences.
Students with this degree will have completed the general education courses and have a solid background in general biology.
All courses within the curriculum will count toward the AS degree with a Biology Emphasis. However, transferability depends on the four-year institution. Additional courses may be transferable to one or more of the public four-year colleges or universities in Colorado. For specific information, please see your advisor.
