Automotive Service Technology Certificates
Learn the hands-on skills to start a career in the automotive industry
The Automotive Program prepares you with real-world skills in car maintenance, repair, and new vehicle technology. You’ll gain valuable “mechanical aptitude,” a skill that’s useful across many industries, from automotive to aviation and even nuclear repair.
In this hands-on program, students work on real vehicles, including family or personal cars, to learn and practice skills daily. You'll master techniques in automotive repair, diagnostics, HVAC, and electrical systems, with guidance from expert instructors.
CMC Automotive Service Technology certificates are offered in Glenwood Springs, Rifle, Salida, and Vail Valley at Edwards in partnership with local school districts. Start your career in automotive technology without needing to relocate or pay for an expensive, year-long program elsewhere.
With a variety of certificate options, from brakes and suspension to engine repair, students can choose to earn their AAS in Multi-Occupational Trades and even apply these credits toward a BAS degree in Leadership and Management. This training opens career opportunities with strong earning potential—master auto techs can make between $100,000 and $150,000 per year in the right positions.
