Learning Outcomes
Program Learning Outcomes are what we expect each student will learn while earning a degree or certificate. Meeting these learning outcomes is how we assess our performance as a college. Our learning outcomes support both important career skills and future success as a student.
Upon completing the Geology (AS) program, CMC students will be able to:
- Recognize characteristics of rocks that relate to past environmental and formation conditions.
- Recognize the vastness of geologic time and apply the techniques of relative and absolute dating.
- Apply the scientific method to a geological problem or question.
- Summarize information to predict the risk of geologic hazards.
- Synthesize and interpret field data in context of concepts learned in the classroom
