Make It Here! Learn the skills to join the outdoor industry’s soft goods design and upcycling movement through one of two certificates.

Outdoor industry leaders like Patagonia, Stio, Big Agnes, The North Face, along with many others, need well-trained and creative professionals to help them build and grow their upcycling programs and contribute to a sustainable and circular manufacturing ecosystem in the outdoor soft goods industry.

Graduates of both programs will be able to Make It Here in the mountains, building a sustainable career for themselves while contributing to the outdoor industry’s future.

Outdoor Soft Goods Manufacturing Certificate

This program equips students with the technical skills necessary to excel in Colorado’s growing outdoor recreation economy. Students learn the technical skills for production work in the action sports and outdoor soft goods space. Emphasis is placed on building technical skills including designing, creating, fabricating, soft good products. Product upcycling and the sustainable manufacturing of apparel and accessories in the action sports and outdoor industries will be highlighted.

Soft Goods Sewing and Design Certificate

A shorter program with fewer classes than the Outdoor Soft Goods Manufacturing Certificate, this introductory program provides students with the technical skills for foundational sewing and design work in the action sports soft goods market. Emphasis is placed on building technical skills including designing, sewing, and fabrication of soft good products. This is a great way to kick start your career in the action sports design industry.
