Pre-Engineering Program

The coursework outlined below is designed to strengthen your preparation for transfer, helping you reduce time to degree and overall cost at leading engineering schools such as the University of Colorado Boulder and the Colorado School of Mines.

Our program:

  • Prepares you to transfer to a four-year engineering program
  • Aligns coursework with both the University of Colorado Boulder and the Colorado School of Mines
  • Offers guaranteed admission pathways to CU Boulder and the Colorado School of Mines for students who meet established requirements

Other CMC courses not listed in the curriculum below may also transfer. Students are encouraged to work with a CMC advisor and consult with their intended transfer institution to confirm course selection.

Guaranteed Admission Agreement with Colorado School of Mines

The Guaranteed Admission Agreement with Colorado School of Mines offers CMC students a clear pathway to one of the nation’s leading engineering universities. Students who complete required coursework, earn a 3.25 GPA and achieve grades of B or better in key classes are guaranteed admission.

Guaranteed Admission Agreement with the University of Colorado Boulder

The Guaranteed Admission Agreement with CU-Boulder offers CMC students guaranteed admission to the engineering path of their choice after completing four college-level courses. Students with less than 24 total college credits will be required to submit high school transcripts.

Articulation Agreement with the Colorado School of Mines

The Colorado School of Mines offers CMC students the opportunity to transfer CMC courses into their engineering pathways. They accept far fewer transfer students than they do regular admits, so students are strongly encouraged to apply before accumulating 24 total college credits.
