Shelby Seitzinger, a student at the Leadville campus, was chosen to intern for PACT Outdoors to research mycoremediation - using fungi to remove contaminants from soil. The PACT system is an eco-friendly way to dispose of human waste in the backcountry - as it uses non-invasive fungi to decompose waste and paper products.
