Leadership in Education
I believe wholeheartedly in the promise of education to provide a richer, deeper understanding of the self and the world. I know the richness of the college experience, as well as the responsibility that educators have to provide value, purpose, and a valuable return on the investment made by the public and the individual student. My purpose is to provide direction, resources, and inspiration to support the work of our faculty and staff in meeting the social, emotional, intellectual, physical, and educational needs of our students. I am inspired to serve with humility, vulnerability, and wholeheartedness.
My experience in higher education has been varied: Admissions, Institutional Research, Student Affairs, Advising, Concurrent Enrollment, and Community Outreach. I was most recently named Vice President and Campus Dean of CMC Spring Valley in July 2015. I am fortunate to be a life-long resident of Colorado and have enjoyed the beauty and challenge of working on the western slope of Colorado for the past 30 years. The mountains inspire me, and I love to get out in them – skiing, hiking, backpacking. Ironically, I have never climbed a 14,000 foot mountain, even though I’ve lived here all my life. I’ve really got to do that…. Soon!
