Vicky came to Colorado in 2000 after earning her bachelor’s degree in Public and Sports Communication with a minor in Business. While working in photography during her BA in Athletic and the Marketing department, she realized she wanted formal technical training, which led her to Colorado Mountain College. She moved out, worked in the Residence Hall, and enrolled in the Photography program—quickly falling in love with both the area and the college community.

When a position opened up at CMC, she didn’t hesitate. She became the Admissions Counselor for the entire college, and it turned out to be the perfect fit. She loved meeting students, hearing what excited them, helping them explore their options, and watching that spark of possibility appear in their eyes. That feeling—those moments—are what kept her at CMC year after year. In 2007, she became the admissions lead for the Spring Valley campus, and today she serves as the Admissions & Enrollment Manager for both Spring Valley and the Glenwood Center.

After nearly 26 years at Colorado Mountain College, what she loves most hasn’t changed: welcoming students of all ages—traditional and nontraditional—and talking with them about what lights them up. And she always tells them the same thing: “Don’t get hung up on choosing what you want to do for the rest of your life. I’m still not sure what I want to do. Instead, think about what you love to do. Start there and you can go anywhere” She encourages every student to set up an appointment with the admissions team member and talk things through—because that’s exactly what they’re there for.

When she’s not at work, she’s with her husband and daughter—out on the trails 4 wheeling, or inside watching movies or playing video games together.
