Emily Walker joined the Colorado Mountain College team in 2026. She has called Salida home since 2016 and owned and operated a community bakery for six years before coming to CMC. She and her husband also founded the local running shoe store in Salida, and Emily has a long career working for and with locally owned businesses.
Emily is a graduate of Kalamazoo College, where she studied Human Development and Social Relations, an interdisciplinary major incorporating Psychology, Sociology and Anthropology courses with a focus on service learning, in which students gained hands-on experience working with community organizations. Through this experience, Emily realized her passion for working closely with people, organizations, and local businesses to promote community resilience.
As a small business owner, Emily found joy through teaching people to bake at elevation with local ingredients and gained valuable marketing experience. She brings a community-driven and entrepreneurial spirit to her role as Continuing Education and Marketing Coordinator at Colorado Mountain College.

Personal Interests
Emily is a former Appalachian Trial thru-hiker and loves to hike the beautiful Salida trails with her husband Andrew, daughter, and cattle dog, Tundra. In her free time, Emily enjoys baking sourdough bread and pastries for her family and friends.
