In accordance with federal regulations set forth under the Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended, below is a summary of consumer information that must be made available to all students at Colorado Mountain College.
Each topic provides a brief description of the information that must be disclosed and provides access to the information. Written copies of all information can be requested by emailing the Financial Aid Email
In order to encourage and foster academic excellence, the college expects students to conduct themselves in accordance with generally accepted norms of scholarship and professional behavior.

Access, Inclusion, and Disability Services ensures that students with disabilities receive reasonable accommodations and services to participate fully in the academic environment. Colorado Mountain College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. Some individual programs are accredited by additional professional organizations that provide specific guidelines to which the curricula in these disciplines must conform.

The adjudication process at Colorado Mountain College is designed to provide a learning experience that encourages growth and personal understanding of one’s responsibilities and privileges within the college environment. The goal of the adjudication process is to balance an understanding and knowledge of students/community members and their needs, with the needs of other students and the college community.

The Annual Security & Fire Safety Report (ASR) is published in compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act). The Annual Security & Fire Safety Report is an annual report that lists crimes and fire statistics and college wide security information. Safety and security of students, staff, and community members is one of Colorado Mountain College’s highest priorities.

Colorado Mountain College may charge fees to students who enroll in certain courses or programs to cover specific costs permitted by state law and by policies of the Colorado Commission for Higher Education. Such fees are intended to cover added costs or to enhance the learning experience provided by the particular course or program.
A student’s cost of attendance is a combination of expenses used to determine a financial aid recipients total estimated cost to attend one year, at the full time level of 12 credit hours for the fall and spring semesters.
Additional cost factors are added if a student elects to attend classes for the summer term.
The cost of attendance includes tuition and fees, room and board, transportation, books & supplies and miscellaneous expenses.

Colorado Mountain College recognizes the faculty members' right and responsibility to award a fair and impartial grade. Likewise, the college recognizes the importance of the grade received by the student and the student's right to have the evaluation system be fair and equitable. An appeals process has been put in place for students questioning their grades.

Colorado Mountain College must comply with the state immunization law. This law requires certain full-time students to provide documentation concerning their immunization against measles, mumps, and rubella. The Registrar’s Office will notify you if this documentation is required. Questions may be addressed to the Student Services Office at the CMC location most convenient to you.

Colorado Mountain College uses an online reporting tool known as CMC Cares. This system allows students, parents, faculty, staff, and the general public to report issues of concern on a wide range of topics including health, safety and wellbeing, academics, campus policy violations and incidents. Reports are kept private and are automatically routed to the appropriate staff for processing.
Complaints may be filed through CMC Cares and will be routed to the appropriate staff person and complaint process. Information on student complaint process may also be found in the CMC Student Handbook.
Colorado Mountain College believes that living in a residence hall on campus can be a special opportunity — one in which students experience the open exchange of ideas and social growth. Living on campus facilitates integration into the campus social network of peers, faculty and staff, and extracurricular activities. This integration has significant positive influence on academic achievement and degree completion for the residential student.

Submit a Sexual Misconduct/Title IX Report
Sexual Misconduct/Title IX includes:

- Sexual assault
- Relationship violence
- Gender discrimination
- Stalking

According to federal law (Clery Act) CMC is required to provide students and community members with a site that identifies the name of the student who is a registered sex offender.
Students and community members are subject to the same federal, state, and local laws as non-students and are the beneficiaries of the same safeguards of individual rights. As members of the academic community, students and community members are expected to conduct themselves in a reasonable manner.
Colorado Mountain College has four categories of student-related complaints.
1st category: Grade appeal
Students have the right to appeal a final course grade if they think that the grade was awarded in a capricious manner. The grade appeal procedure is outlined in the Student Handbook and College Catalog.
2nd category: Financial aid appeal
Students have the right to appeal financial aid decisions, including loan denial and financial aid suspension. The appeal process is outlined in financial aid brochures and appeal forms are available through the Financial Aid Specialists or at Central Services.
3rd category: All other student complaints
For student-initiated complaints including, but not limited to, CMC policies or processes, CMC staff/faculty behavior toward a student, etc. Students lodging a complaint against a staff member, faculty member, or another student that is not related to grade appeal, financial aid appeal or violation of the student code of conduct will follow the process as published in the Catalog/Students Rights & Responsibilities (link below).

Colorado Mountain College has a responsibility to its employees and students to provide a safe and healthful environment. CMC has initiated a tobacco use policy that specifies:
Each campus and center will identify designated smoking areas. Smoking will be limited to these designated areas only. All smoking areas shall be clearly marked with signs.
The CMC Breckenridge - Dillon Campus is tobacco free. This means the use of tobacco products is prohibited at the Summit Campus and Dillon Center.
