I love working with students to celebrate their curiosity and cultivate their inner writers and readers. My favorite writers are CAConrad, Ross Gay, Robin Coste Lewis, Aimee Nezhukumatathil, Alexis Pauline Gumbs, Layli Long Solider, Ocean Vuong, Claudia Rankine, Audre Lorde, and Sylvia Plath, among many others.

Family

My husband and I celebrate the chaos our yellow lab and old cat bring into our lives, and look forward to growing our menagerie.

I have had written work published in Framing the World: Explorations in Ecocriticism and Film, Journal of Independent Film and Video, (A New Generation of) Feminist Science Studies, Release Print, Moviemaker Magazine, Women’s Studies Association Journal, Movie Habit and The Icon.

I've been honored to have my films screen in many venues including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Minneapolis, Denver, Boulder, San Francisco, Washington, Pittsburgh and Hot Springs, Arkansas. I have won several awards at these festivals, but maybe my favorite one was the "Banana Slug Award for Surrealist Experimental Film" at the Humboldt film festival a few years back.

About

Jeffrey Runyon has been teaching at Colorado Mountain College Leadville since 2008. He has committed his time to teaching English—composition, literature, poetry, creative writing, and more. Jeffrey was named Full-time Faculty of the Year in 2009-2010 and was the Faculty Senator for the Leadville campus from 2008-2012.

Jeffrey Runyon has been on CMC’s International Programs Committee since 2008, and lead the study abroad trip to Ireland in 2013.

When he isn’t teaching, Jeffrey enjoys hunting, fishing, hiking, reading, writing, motorcycling, and traveling.
