Under the direction of the Assistant Dean of Instruction for Avalanche Science, the Outdoor Technician provides logistical and administrative support to the Avalanche Science program and coordinates the activities of the Outdoor Pursuits Program of the Leadville Campus. This may include, but is not limited to, administrative and program support for the Avalanche Science Program, coordinating and facilitating the outdoor pursuits program, and providing building oversight for student open gym sessions in the evenings.

Pre-requisites for Position (Qualifications Standards)
Education and experience sufficient for the rigors of the position, such as an Associate’s Degree in Outdoor Education, or related field, plus 1 year of related experience, or equivalent education and experience. Knowledge of risk management requirements for student activities and on-snow instruction preferred.
Special Skills or abilities related to position: attention to detail; organizational skills; familiarity with outdoor equipment maintenance and protocol of leading field experiences. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Bilingual (English/Spanish) or conversational language abilities is preferred.
