The position

Full time faculty positions begin in May 2024 with a 30 credit hour (170 day contract per Board Policy 4.12) teaching load annually.

This is a new dental hygiene program, eagerly sought by the local dental professional community. It is unique with a strategic partnership with Mountain Family Health Center who will deliver restorative dentistry in the CMC oral health clinic. It is an intimate program with only ten students per cohort.

The successful candidate will teach all courses in the Dental Hygiene program. The successful applicant will teach courses including but not limited to: Preclinical and Clinical Dental Hygiene, Dental Anatomy & Histology, Dental Radiology, and Periodontics and Dental Materials, while adhering to all CODA Standards.

Teaching responsibilities expected of all faculty include: teach course load as assigned, evaluate courses and assess student learning, meet established course, program and institution learning outcomes, comply with guidelines and policies, maintain office hours per established standards, develop rapport with students, assist with and participate in advising, orientation and registration activities.

CMC Faculty are expected to engage in service activities such as campus and college committees, participate in relevant projects, mentor peers, participate in and assist with assessment activities, program review, student organization, recruiting and retention.

Salary range: $74,591.59 - $90,852.49 annual salary depending upon a combination of education and experience. Requirements:

Qualified candidates must be credentialed to teach in this program, or eligible to be credentialed. Examples of ideal qualifications include: An associate degree or higher from a Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) accredited dental hygiene program. A Bachelor’s degree or higher from a nationally accredited institution. Minimum 3-4 years full-time or equivalent clinical dental hygiene experience within the last 5 years. 5 years full-time or equivalent preferred. At least 1 year of clinical and/or didactic teaching experience required. Didactic teaching experience preferred.

The position

This full time faculty position will begin January 2024 with a 30-credit hour (170-day contract per Board Policy 4.12) teaching load annually. This position will include a mandatory additional 15-credit (approx. 85-day) for program development administrative duties during the first year which will be paid in the form of an overload contract. This position’s first year will be fully administrative for program proposal, curriculum development, and accreditation application through approval stages. The position in year two and beyond may include up to 9 credits administrative release for college-wide oversight duties for the Radiology Technician Program, which includes administrative and compliance duties with state and national accreditation bodies. Continued opportunities for additional overload credits/contracts will be assessed through the program development and instructional needs of the program.

CMC is seeking an experienced professional and dynamic educator to be the lead instructor in the emerging Radiology Technology Program. The successful candidate will work to strengthen partnerships with local employers such as hospitals and health care agencies. Lead faculty in this discipline work with campus administrative staff to maintain and purchase supplies, coordinate testing and state required documentation, assist in the collection of student records for clinical experiences, and identify local opportunities for clinical partnerships.

With reassignment time granted, this faculty position serves as Program Chair and includes program oversight in coordination with the Dean of Allied Health, Public Safety, Wellness and Outdoor Studies in accordance with CMC’s Curriculum and Instruction Manual. Duties include maintaining standards established by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and ensuring compliance with the guidelines and regulations mandated by State agencies, and other accrediting organizations.

Base salary carries forward to year 2 and 3 of term position with possible varying (not guaranteed) overload credit opportunities.

Must hold a current unrestricted certification and active registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography (R) or Radiologist Assistant (R.R.A.). Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association required. Knowledge of academic administration, curriculum development, and business planning preferred.

The position

Under the supervision of the designated Lead Instructor and/or direct supervisor, the EMT Skills Assistant III demonstrative support and practical skills assistance in mandatory lab and field portions of the EMS courses The EMT Skills Assistant III may be responsible for organizing classroom materials for instruction, inventory program materials and monitoring supplies, and receiving materials for cleaning and organization post-course. This position may also assist the EMS Instructor with the incorporation of advanced technology and simulation experiences that will assist students with critical thinking in pre-hospital care areas. The EMT Skills Assistant III may help provide constructive feedback to students and for Lead instructor evaluations in national testing scenarios. Typically, this is 6 or fewer students per skills assistant with oversight from the lead instructor or direct supervisor.

This is a part-time position which is limited to 28 hours per CMC’s workweek. CMC’s workweek is Saturday through Friday.

Hiring pay rate is $ 37.47 per hour. Benefits include retirement contribution, annual and sick time, mental health resources, and tuition benefit.

Pre-requisites for Position (Qualifications Standards)

Education and experience sufficient to meet the position requirements.  Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent required and three years of related experience or equivalent combination of formal education and experience in a field necessary to obtain the knowledge and abilities required to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. Minimum qualifications include: a national or state certificate as an AEMS, EMT-B +plus IV Therapy. Desired qualifications include a WEMT upgrade.

Special Skills and Abilities: Ability to use good judgment and remain calm in high-stress situations. Ability to communicate effectively in person, via telephone and radio, competency in emergency communication language, protocol and procedure. Ability to use medical equipment relevant to area(s). Ability to work effectively with staff, faculty and students as a member of the team.

The position

Under the supervision of a Lead Instructor and/or direct supervisor, the EMT Skills Assistant II will provide demonstrative support and practical skills assistance in mandatory lab and field portions of the EMS courses. Supports and maintains the general operation and availability of equipment for the classroom and learning labs to ensure that course objectives and student needs will be met as per the lead instructors’ directions. The EMT Skills Assistant II may be responsible for organizing classroom materials for instruction, inventory program materials and monitoring supplies, and receiving materials for cleaning and organization post-course. Typically, this is 6 students to 1 skill assistant ratio with oversight from the lead instructor or direct supervisor.

This is a part-time position which is limited to 28 hours per CMC’s workweek. CMC’s workweek is Saturday through Friday.

Pre-requisites for Position (Qualifications Standards)

Education and experience sufficient to meet the position requirements. Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent required.  Minimum qualifications include: national or state certification as an EMT-B +plus documented experience and competency in all BLS skills essential. Examples of ideal qualifications may include current EMT-B certification plus two years of experience as a paid, professional EMT. Equivalent education and experience that will provide the necessary knowledge, skill and abilities to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.

Special Skills or abilities directly applicable to the position: Ability to train others in proficiency with automated external defibrillator, advanced life support equipment and skills, ability to communicate effectively in person, via telephone and radio, competency in emergency communication language, protocol and procedure, ability to remain calm in high stress situations and adverse conditions, interview patients, bystanders, and others, document and report findings, ability to communicate with medical personnel. Ability to transport patients and provide emergency care.

The position

Full time faculty positions begin in January 2024 with a 30-credit hour (170 day contract per Board Policy 4.12) teaching load annually. This year-round faculty position consists of a 37-credit instructional role within the paramedic program.

CMC is seeking an experienced EMS professional and dynamic educator to be the primary lead instructor in the Paramedic Program. Teaching duties include all diadatic, skill lab, preclinical, and clinical rotation courses within the Paramedic curriculum. The successful candidate will work to strengthen partnerships with local employers such as hospitals, health care agencies, as well as the local ski areas. Lead faculty in this discipline additionally facilitate recruiting, training, and scheduling of EMT Skills Assistant staff and Adjunct faculty, maintenance and purchasing of supplies, coordination of testing and state required documentation, assist in the collection of student records for clinical experiences, and identify local opportunities for clinical partnerships in conjunction with the college-wide EMS Clinical Coordinator.

This faculty teaching position will work closely with campus leadership and report directly to a School Dean or designee to meet all accreditation and program standards. Faculty instruction includes proper documentation and adherence to standards for reporting to Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP), Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT), and State of Colorado Dept of Public Health and environment (CDPHE). Teaching responsibilities expected of all faculty include: teaching course load as assigned, evaluate courses and assess student learning, meet established course, program and learning outcomes, comply with guidelines and policies, maintain office hours per established standards, develop rapport with students, assist with and participate in advising, orientation and registration activities.

Program instruction includes additional coordination, travel, and record management: Planning for classroom, laboratory and clinical learning experiences, to include confirmation of written agreements between the administration of the program and outside providers of clinical resources. Providing for the safe keeping of a system of permanent records and reports essential to the operation of the program. Collection and assisting in coordination with clinical partners to meet needs for on-site direct supervision, this may include immunization, background check, fingerprints, and partnership orientation.

CMC Faculty are expected to engage in service activities such as campus and college committees, participation in relevant projects, mentor peers, participate in and assist with assessment activities, program review, student organization, recruiting and retention.

Salary range: $84,153.03 - $100,832.03 annual salary depending upon a combination of education and experience. [Base salary: $74,591.59 - $90,852.49 depending upon education and experience. Mandatory additional 7 credits Lab instruction: $9,561.44 - $10,039.54.] Additional teaching opportunities may be available and are compensated at the adjunct faculty rates during contract overload review periods. Requirements:

Qualified candidates must be credentialed to teach in this program, or eligible to be credentialed. Examples of ideal qualifications include:

Paramedic  Lead Instructors (as per CAAHEP) should have a minimum of an Associate's degree, have appropriate medical or allied health education, training, and experience, be knowledgeable about methods of instruction, testing and evaluation of students, have field experience in the delivery of out-of-hospital emergency care, have academic training and preparation related to emergency medical services at least equivalent to that of a paramedic, and be knowledgeable about the current versions of the National EMS Scope of Practice and National EMS Education Standards, and about evidenced-informed clinical practice. Bachelor’s Degree and 4,000 hours of verified, paid EMS work experience in the past five years or Master’s degree preferred. Degree and previous teaching/training in directly related field preferred.

Nationally Registered EMT – Paramedic or State of Colorado EMT – Paramedic Certified required. AHA BLS Instructor preferred. Experience with wilderness medicine or remote EMS care is a plus. Successful completion of an EMS Instructor Course with Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) Division of EMS Administration or National Association of EMS Educators (or completion of this course within the provisional period of the position) required.
