The College and Career Navigator performs duties in support of students enrolled in ESL and high school equivalency (HSE) classes located at the Edwards campus and CMC locations near the Edwards campus. The College and Career Navigator helps students to achieve goals of employment with sustainable wages and/or post-secondary or skills training completion through career pathways. This position will market programs and coordinate job resources. Duties include to coach, support, and monitor students in the initial stages of educational advancement and employment, maintain relations with employers, locate educational and career opportunities for students based on students’ educational and career goals, develop relationships with potential employers of varies industries to facilitate communication between students and employers, address the needs of a diverse student population, data entry to keep accurate and up-to-date records on students and their progress, and other duties as assigned.
The position is 28 hours a week, grant funded, dependent on continuation of availability of grant funding, and no benefits.

Pre-requisites for Position (Qualifications Standards)
Education and experience sufficient for the rigors of the position. Minimum education and experience is bachelor’s degree and one year related experience. An applicable combination of education and experience necessary for the position responsibilities required. Special skills or abilities: proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially MSWord and Excel; grant management; proficiency with technology and standard office equipment.
Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to work in a culturally competent environment and the ability to effectively interact with students, employees, and community members with diverse backgrounds.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) or conversational language abilities preferred.
