Main Job Functions:
Provide assistance at the front desk in the residence hall, engaging in conversations with students and pointing them to the correct resources; assist with package logging and check-out process.
Job Duties:
Logging incoming packages, organizing mail room, and checking packages out to students; assisting students with general questions and providing resources if needed; creating community by engaging in conversation with residents; keeping the front desk area clean and organized; hanging up weekly program and event flyers as needed; following check-out procedure for the video game consoles.
Working Conditions:
This position requires constant sitting, occasional walking, standing and driving; occasional handling objects, pushing/pulling; frequent reaching with hands/arms, and use of finger movements; occasional lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling objects up to 50 lbs. Constant written and oral communication and the ability to reason and analyze and perform calculations occasionally. Work is performed using a computer and standard office equipment daily and driving a vehicle occasionally. Minimum Qualifications:
Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; must be willing to engage in conversation with all residents; good organizational and time management skills – able to work on multiple projects.
