Main Job Functions:

The Greenhouse Caretaker assists with the daily operation, maintenance, and care of the campus greenhouse. This position provides hands-on experience in plant cultivation, sustainable growing practices, and greenhouse management while supporting campus educational and community initiatives. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Water, fertilize, and monitor plants according to established schedules. Assist with planting, transplanting, pruning, and harvesting greenhouse crops. Monitor greenhouse environmental conditions, including temperature, humidity, ventilation, and irrigation systems.

Working Conditions:

This position requires constant sitting, occasional walking, standing and driving; occasional handling objects, pushing/pulling; frequent reaching with hands/arms, and use of finger movements; occasional lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling objects up to 50 lbs. Constant written and oral communication and the ability to reason and analyze and perform calculations occasionally. Work is performed using a computer and standard office equipment daily and driving a vehicle occasionally. Minimum Qualifications:

Must be eligible for Federal Work-Study employment. Current enrollment at Colorado Mountain College. Ability to work independently and follow instructions. Dependable, punctual, and detail-oriented. Ability to perform light physical labor and work in varying greenhouse temperatures. Interest in horticulture, agriculture, sustainability, environmental science, or related fields preferred.
