Main Job Functions:
The Front Desk Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for residents, visitors, and guests of Hill Hall. Receptionists provide customer service, enforce residence hall policies, assist with administrative tasks, and support the safety and security of the building.
Job Duties:
- Greet and assist residents, visitors, and campus partners in a friendly and professional manner. - Assist with mail and package distribution. - Maintain confidentiality of student and staff information. - Complete administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and inventory tracking. - Uphold university and Housing policies at all times while serving as a role model for residents. - Monitor building access, check identification, and enforce guest/visitation policies. - Assist with lockouts, maintenance concerns and policy violations that occur during desk hours. - Maintain office organization and cleanliness. - Perform other duties as assigned by Residence Life staff.
Working Conditions:
This position requires constant sitting, occasional walking, standing and driving; occasional handling objects, pushing/pulling; frequent reaching with hands/arms, and use of finger movements; occasional lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling objects up to 50 lbs. Constant written and oral communication and the ability to reason and analyze and perform calculations occasionally. Work is performed using a computer and standard office equipment daily and driving a vehicle occasionally. Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be a currently enrolled student in good academic and conduct standing with the college. - Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written). - Ability to provide high-quality customer service with professionalism and courtesy. - Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision. - Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and maintain attention to detail. - Commitment to upholding confidentiality, integrity, and university policies.
