Main Job Functions:

Responsible for assisting Chaplain with spiritual support and bereavement services to patients and families in keeping with their desire/belief system, and consistent with Hospice policies and procedures.

Job Duties:

Assists Chaplain to maintain proper records of visits to patients and families. Shadow Chaplain to offer and/or provide spiritual and bereavement support. Participate in patient conferences.

Working Conditions:

This position requires constant sitting, occasional walking, standing and driving; occasional handling objects, pushing/pulling; frequent reaching with hands/arms, and use of finger movements; occasional lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling objects up to 50 lbs. Constant written and oral communication and the ability to reason and analyze and perform calculations occasionally. Work is performed using a computer and standard office equipment daily and driving a vehicle occasionally. Minimum Qualifications:

Student at accredited college with major in human services or health care services. Curiosity about spiritual or bereavement care specific to Hospice. Awareness of impact of beliefs/faith on health outcomes.
